This week’s CTN Shabbat Fax is sponsored by all of us at CTN and the entire extended CTN Family, wishing a huge ‘Mazel tov’ to Yehuda Spielman on the occasion of his Bar Mitzvah this Shabbos. 1. AND ABRAHAM BELIEVED IN G-D. AND HE CONSIDERED IT TO BE A KINDNESS.’ (15:6).
This week’s CTN Shabbat Fax is sponsored by the Deutsch Family, in memory of Rae Daniel z”l, a truly special and beloved person. She was a unique combination of scholarship, piety, sincerity, and tremendous dedication, whose passing in October 1992 (2 Mar Cheshvan 5753) left an immense void in the hearts of her family, friends and students. During the many years that she taught in Hebrew schools, she was more than just another teacher. She was that rare individual who truly inspired her students with love of Judaism, tradition and the Land of Israel. In the words of a parent of two of her students “… she touched our lives, and opened a new world for Amy and Leah …”. The CTN Shabbat Fax tries to represent all that Rae Daniel was. We pray that her memory be blessed, as the Shabbat Fax continues to bring Jewish thought and inspiration to more and more people.
This week’s CTN Shabbat Fax is sponsored by Doris and Ron Lazarus in honor of their children Matthew and Jennifer Seidner, and grandchildren Talia, Perla and Jonah. “May the New Year bless you with good health and continued strength. May you feel our love, devotion and pride on every step of your journey. We are filled with gratitude for all that you teach us, every moment of every day. Happy 6th Birthday Talia. We love you! Love, Bubbie and Poppa”
1. “IN THE BEGINNING G-D CREATED
This Shabbat, in synagogues around the world, we’re back to square one.
Starting to study the Torah all over again. From the beginning.
It’s always been a very Jewish approach to Torah.
… As soon as we finish – we start again!
It’s something we should appreciate. Be proud of.
And make sure we continue.
… The love for learning. The endless passion to know more.
And – most importantly – never to say: “I know that already.” (more…)
This week’s Shabbat Fax/Email is dedicated by all of us at CTN, in memory of Rhoda Ross and Howard Ross z”l. This past Wednesday’s Evening with Rebbetzin Esther Jungreis, which was dedicated in their memory, was a tremendous success. May the inspiration this special evening brought to close to 300 Jewish men and women of all backgrounds, be a merit for them and for their family.
1. YOM KIPPUR. THE DAY OF ATONEMENT
After hours of prayer and introspection, it is customary to end Yom Kippur with a short ritual.
… A short blowing of the shofar.
Which is exactly how the High Holidays began. With the blowing of the shofar on Rosh Hashanah.
… And this might be one of the most important High Holiday messages. (more…)
This week’s Shabbat Fax/Email is dedicated by Bruce & Kiki Wittert wishing Mazel Tov to our wonderful children Mitch and Amy Rose, on the occasion of Yosef Chaim’s ‘upsherin’ – his third birthday and special first haircut! May he grow to be a great human being and a great Jew, who is a pride to his family and the entire community. We wish to thank CTN for all they have done for our entire family.

This week’s CTN Shabbat Fax is sponsored by Rabbi Moshe Katz and family, in honor of the second yartzeit of his brother, Rabbi Reuven Katz z”l. “Growing up you were a role model for us. We loved Torah because you loved Torah. We wanted to live elevated lives because your life was elevated!”
This week’s CTN Shabbat Fax is sponsored by Myra (Mickey) Sanderman in memory of her mother, Dorothy Kropman Lipp and her father, Louis E. Lipp, loving inspirations to her children, grandchildren, Stacy (Josh) Spielman and Steven Sanderman, and great grandchildren, Tziyona, Devorah, Yehuda, Ephraim and Aviva Spielman, and Hannah and Julia Sanderman.
Rabbi Deutsch and Rabbi Katz really make an effort to try to connect to everyone. At CTN people are always reaching out to you and offering support every step of the way. Classes and holiday services are always on a level that is inclusive as well as inspirational.
I have an incredibly hectic job as a Chief Financial Officer for a high growth technology company. My study session with Rabbi Deutsch is a great spiritual renewal in the middle of my week and helps me keep focus on what is truly important.

The Rabbis at CTN do an amazing job of demonstrating the beauty and richness of Judaism. They provide me and many others with the opportunity to incorporate Torah study and growth into my week at my own pace. CTN has truly been a wonderful addition to my life.
CTN has allowed me – and many other young professionals – to grow in my Jewish identity and Jewish knowledge at a pace that is right for me. If you’re looking for Jewish learning and inspiration, CTN is definitely the place to go!

My commitment to Israel and efforts on behalf of Jewish causes has dramatically increased since I have begun to learn more about Torah and Jewish tradition with CTN and its wonderful Rabbis. CTN has had a tremendous impact on my and my family’s life.
